Mayan Ceremony
There are several kinds of Ceremonies that may be held by a Mayan Shaman; among these are the Mayan Ceremony and the Cosmic Ceremony, both held in Mayan, without any translation.
Over the past few years, this type of Ceremony is the most popular. Couples choosing to wed in this paradise can feel the strong magnetism that is present in the area, and they choose to blend the ancestral and the modern in a ceremony that is a far cry from the usual.??These are Spiritual Ceremonies, and as such, are not legally binding. If you wish to have both a spiritual and LEGAL Ceremony at the same time, you can have a Civil Ceremony and then your Spiritual Ceremony.
Mayan Ceremony
The Mayan Ceremony may be as simple or as elaborate as you wish. Upon commencing the Ceremony, the area and the four cardinal points are purified with the "Copal" smoke (incense) and the sound of a spiral shell.??The altar is made up with flowers, seeds, grains, water, Copal, and smoke, representing all four elements. The bride and groom offer a floral tribute to the sea and give each other symbolic gifts, accompanied by the sound of pre-Hispanic music, while friends and family participate in the ceremony. Guests may witness this Ceremony barefoot and dressed in white in order to have better contact when receiving the energy that Mother Earth has to offer.
